PICK A BOOK WINS AT THE SLT ZERO ONE AWARDS

Pick a Book paved away the Best Community Empowerment Programme at the SLT Zero One Awards.

Pick a Book has attracted more than 2000 professional over the past 6 months from over 50 public sessions in Sri Lanka. The growth of Pick a Book has been consistently expanding and this initiative has certainly piqued the enthusiasm of readers and non-readers alike. The Growth of this game changing community has stunned many and inspired the rest, which went on to brag the Best Community Empowerment Programme at the SLT Zero One Awards on the 4th of March 2020, held at Shangri- La Colombo.

It’s notable to mention that Pick a Book has won this award with just 6 months of being in operation. This award comes to Pick a Book only a few weeks after the official launch of the reading sessions and has proved to us that our effort as a team to spread the love of reading has worked effectively. This recognition for our work will also spur us forward in the path of conquering many more prestigious awards in the coming years without losing out on the sole focus of sowing the seeds of literacy and the love of books in every part of our island.
