Pick a Book Story

Pick a Book started off as an enthusiastic approach towards inculcating the reading habit among the staff of Epitom Digital. What started off as a fun initiative quickly picked up interest among the connections of the staff. With massive public encouragement, Pick a Book gradually widened its roots and expanded to include public reading sessions.

What started off as an office activity where one staff member read a chapter of a specific book and presented it to the others, garnered much interest among those who liked to read but never found the time. Thus, Pick a Book was born, with public reading sessions and a much-loved platform for readers of all ages.

Pickabook initially started among the employees at Epitom Digital in Colombo, Sri Lanka. First they read one chapter of the book and presented it to the other employees. Then they realized that there are people who like to read but don't have time. So they created a public platform for readers.

The Pick a Book logo symbolizes a cocoon and a butterfly in perfect unison. Just like a cocoon that transforms, bursts into life, spreads its wings and takes flight in the form of a beautiful butterfly, a reader experiences life, undergoes changes and understands the beauty of things from within the pages of a book.
